God is a holy, just, and righteous God.
Both statements are true according to the Bible. But for many people, they present a view of God that is contradictory. A God of love would not punish sinners. A God who is just and holy cannot overlook our transgressions.
Therein lies our personal and corporate quandary: who will God save? Many people live in a limbo of uncertainty about their personal salvation, i.e., “I know I’ve done what the preacher said I needed to do, but I don’t feel saved and I don’t believe I’m good enough.”
Others worry about loved ones who died without confessing Jesus Christ as Savior. Or about a friend who turned from faith to atheism in their adulthood. Or about a spouse who is “as good as gold” but hasn’t made a commitment to God.
